• (2 stars) About the same as the national experience: this means that the facility about the same rate of infection than the average health care facility.
• (1 star) Worse than the national experience: this means that the facility has a higher rate of infection than the average health care facility.
• Not enough data to calculate SIR: this means that the facility doesn’t have enough patients with central lines in their ICU/NICU to be able to reliably determine whether they are doing better, worse or the same as the nation.
